New home, wedding planning and other ramblings

So, hi. It’s been 1 month, 2 weeks and 1 day since I last wrote a blog. And 4 months and 5 days since the one before. I’ve been busy, which is true but also lazy and uninspired. I haven’t felt very motivated to write anything inspiring (can you tell hah) but I did have enough willpower to force myself to go sit in a cafe with my laptop and just write something. I had to go via a few second hand stores on the way of course to get a little feel good purchase (a mustard yellow winter jumper to help brighten the mood). I’ve lived here now in Westbourne for 6 days. It’s a fun little place, with it’s independent cafes, stylish hairdressers and not 1 but 5+ second hand stores. I would be lying if I said that that wasn’t a big reason for me wanting to live here 😅

We’ve been planning this move for about 9 months, so last week we finally packed up everything we own in a van (after a fair few trips to the Oxfam store) and headed down south to set up our new life. There’s a lot of reasons we decided to head south but the main one was to be closer to family. Funnily enough, when we first moved back to Oxford in 2014 it was originally only for a few months. In the last 5 years we’ve left Oxford multiple times but always returned. This time it’s different, it’s like…. permanent. So we now live 20 min walk to the beach (that is so cool to say) and there’s always so much going on in Bournemouth and surrounding areas, we’re super excited to have more of a social & outdoors kind of life. I will be working part time in Almond & Co (possibly my favourite shop ever) and part time blogging so I’m super keen to get involved with the sustainable community in the area. If you have any suggestions of cool shops / markets / events going on nearby please let me know!

On another note, we’ve booked quite a lot for our wedding next year and I have SO much to tell you about our attempt at sustainable wedding planning… some successes, some failures but hey I have never done this before and I only plan to do it once so we’re just making do with what we have. I know I promised you sustainable wedding posts about 6 months ago but they are coming!

Lastly, I have been sent some shoes from Wildling which I have worn permanently for the last 2-3 weeks in order to write a blog review on them which is coming very soon. Here’s a sneak peak – they are pretty damn comfy.

If you have read this far and wondered where the last 5 mins of your life has gone, I appreciate you. Thanks for sticking around though my moaning, confusion and general rambling.

Peace ❤
